How the bill grows
Monthly cost as the disk grows, at 6,000 IOPS and 250 MB/s. Steps are fixed sizes; gaps are where a type cannot deliver.
Price per GiB-month in every region
Each line runs from the cheapest region to the dearest, the tick is the median and the dot is US East. Fixed-size disks at their 1 TiB size. Pick a disk to map it.
What the prices say
Move gp2 volumes to gp3
In us-east-1, gp3 costs 20% less per GiB than gp2 and includes 3,000 IOPS at any size. A 100 GiB gp2 volume gets 300.
On Premium SSD, speed is bought with size
A 256 GiB disk that needs 6,000 IOPS has to be bought as P40, 2,048 GiB, in eastus. Premium SSD v2 and gp3 sell performance separately.
Zone redundancy has a price
Zone-redundant Premium SSD costs a median 50% more than locally redundant, across 39 Azure regions that sell both.

gp3 costs $0.080 per GiB-month in us-east-1 and $0.152 in sa-east-1. Storage follows the region your compute runs in.

List prices in US dollars per month, before discounts and taxes. Prices for AWS us-east-1 and Azure eastus. Google Cloud disk prices are not available right now. Block storage from Oracle, DigitalOcean, Linode and Vultr is not in the catalog.
Performance limits follow each provider’s published volume specifications: Amazon EBS volume types and Azure disk performance targets. Azure fixed-size disks use their base performance, without bursting.
